All sales are private; you interact with the buyer, seller, or trader on a direct basis, track your inventory, monitor your hits, edit or upgrade your ad, move your ad online and offline anytime, at no additional charge.

Who’s in control?

We understand that each piece of equipment has a different sentimental value to each of us. You have the right to choose the best home and the best price for your gear. You are not required to sell only to the “highest bidder.” You may accept or decline any offers for any reason. You are free to set your own prices and terms with buyers on an individual basis and in private, one-on-one.

Do I get image hosting?

We will host your images to make it easier for you to create, manage and market your ad. No additional charges!

What images can I use?

Because of various federal Copyright and Intellectual Property laws, we ask that you use your own pictures or videos for the item you are selling. Once you have taken your own pictures and videos of the item for sale with a digital camera you can easily upload them into your editor’s page for storage. Gearbyowner.com reserves the right to refuse any photos that are not considered proprietary.

Can I remain anonymous?

No need to worry about posting your phone number and other personal or business information in a classified ad for the universe to see. Once you register, GearbyOwner.com will automatically assign you a unique gearbyowner.com classified ID as your contact information. You have the freedom to decide to whom you disclose your personal information.

What is a gearbyowner.com ID?

You will be assigned a unique ID for each purchased classified ad posted on gearbyowner.com immediately when you post your ad on our site. This will allow the seller to use their ID to help buyers find their item. ID can be used on ads and flyers to promote item or service.

How do I pay?

How do I get paid?

By setting up a free personal or business account with PayPal, you will be able to accept major credit cards, Pay Pal and e-Check payments. You may also choose to accept checks and money orders by mail or use your own payment services.You may include text in your classified ad telling the buyer the different payment services you accept. You also can add an image to your ad; just add it to your cart. Most payment services will provide you with a link that you can email to your buyer to receive payment.

When does my ad appear?

Gearbyowner.com updates the browser and search sections every 10 minutes. When you create your ad it will take a couple of minutes to show up on gearbyowner.com. If you are making any updates or upgrades to your ad we ask that you allow 10 minutes for the site to update your changes.

What are ad promotions?

You will have the option to buy ad promotions (bold, highlight, front page coverage, extra images, and additional characters). Promotions will be active within 10 minutes of receiving payment by credit card.Gearbyowner.com will email you when your payment is processed, but you can view your ad editor’s page at any time.

How long does my ad remain active?

When you post your gear ad, it’s automatically activated for 30 days. You can view your ad and monitor expiration date in your editor’s page. You will be allowed to Disable or Enable at any time before ad expires. When your classified expires you can renew month to month or set it up for auto renewal. Setting up auto renewal will prevent you from missing any offers.

How do I reset my password?

Click the “Forgot your Password” link on the sign-in page. Enter your email address. A new password will be randomly generated and emailed to you. You may change this password once you log in.

How do I choose a good password?

Your password provides you with access to members-only areas on gearbyowner.com, including your negotiations and account information. Your password must be at least six (6) characters in length, but not more than 20. Your password should contain both numbers (0-9) and letters (A-Z, a-z), and may also contain non-alphanumeric characters such as underscores (_), commas (,), dollar signs ($), etc. No spaces are allowed.

Why are registrations limited to the U.S. and Canada?

By limiting our registrations to U.S. and Canadian residents, we hope to provide a safer community for our members. Over the years, buyers and sellers have found that sending payment or shipping items internationally offers them little protection or tracking capability. At this time, we do not have plans to expand gearbyowner.com outside the U.S. or Canada.
